Srinagar, Oct 09 (KNO): Two boys from Srinagar reportedly went missing after losing their way while trekking in the forest area of Rayil Gund in Ganderbal district on Thursday, prompting a search operation by police and rescue teams, officials said.
A top police official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that the boys, identified as Huzair and Minaan, contacted the emergency helpline Dial 112 seeking assistance after losing their way in the forest.
Following the information, teams from the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) unit at Gund, Gund Police Station and the Dial 112 unit rushed to the area and launched a search operation to trace the boys.
However, officials said contact with the boys could not be established as their mobile phones were switched off.
The search operation was underway, officials added.—(KNO)
